Folk Agreement
The terms that apply if you come along to sessions as a Folk.
Version 2026-10-12.7, effective 2026-09-04.
Your status
You take part as an independent person, in your own name and at your own risk. You are not an employee, worker, agent, partner or representative of Timefolk, and nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship.
You decide whether, when and how often to accept a session. You are not required to accept any request, and declining one has no penalty.
You are responsible for any permit or registration your own activity needs where you live, and for declaring and paying tax on what you earn.
What a Folk does
A Folk is a trusted, ID-verified person who comes along to a session between a client and an Expert, always in a public place. You are present, and nothing more.
A Folk is not security. You do not protect, guard, watch over, follow, restrain or intervene physically for anyone, and you must never present yourself as security, a guard, a bodyguard or anyone with a protective duty.
If anyone is in danger, your only role is to call the local emergency number and to tell Timefolk through the app. You are never expected to put yourself at risk.
What a Folk must never do
Carry a weapon or anything used as one; drink alcohol or take drugs during a session; film, photograph or record anyone; meet anywhere other than the public place shown; travel with a client or Expert in a private vehicle; or go to a private home.
Contact or pay a client or Expert outside Timefolk, offer any romantic, intimate or sexual contact, or accept any session that is not scheduled through Timefolk.
Breaking any of these rules ends your access to Timefolk at once, and we may report it to the authorities.
Payment
You set your own hourly fee, at or above the minimum for your country. Clients pay through Timefolk, which collects the payment as your limited payment collection agent; a client's payment to us settles what they owe you.
Your earnings are sent only through our licensed payment providers, such as Stripe, never from Timefolk's own accounts. Timefolk's fee is shown before you accept.
Responsibility and liability
You are responsible for your own actions and omissions during and around a session. Timefolk does not supervise, direct or control what you do, and is not responsible for anything you do or fail to do.
You agree to cover Timefolk, its officers and its staff against any claim, loss, fine or cost that arises from your conduct, from your breach of these terms or of the law, or from any injury or damage you cause.
Timefolk does not insure you, and nothing Timefolk provides is insurance. You may arrange your own personal liability insurance and we recommend that you do.
To the extent the law allows, Timefolk is not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss caused by a client, an Expert or another member, and Timefolk's total liability to you is limited to the fees Timefolk earned from your sessions in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Verification, reviews and removal
You must pass identity, age and liveness verification before you are approved, and keep your details accurate. A person reviews every application.
Clients and Experts can review and report you. Timefolk may suspend or remove you at any time if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, the Community Standards or the law, or put anyone at risk.
The rest of our terms
These terms add to the Terms of Service, the Community Standards, the Payments and Payouts policy and the Folk policy, which also apply to you. Where they conflict, these terms apply to your work as a Folk.
